KASY CHAMBERS, ARMSTRONG EASILY DEFEATED HER REPUBLICAN RIVAL, MISTY GLENN. SHE TOOK 77% OF THE VOTE. CHAMBERS ARMSTRONG WILL REPLACE THE DEMOCRAT MORGAN MCGARVEY WHO WAS ELECTED TO CONGRESS. Democrat Cassie Chambers Armstrong has won the special election to fill Kentucky's vacant senate seat.Chambers Armstrong won by securing 77% of the total votes. To see the full results from the Jefferson County Clerk's Office, click here.The special election was held to fill the vacant state senate seat in Louisville's District 19.The District 19 seat became vacant after Morgan McGarvey left to represent Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District. He held the seat from 2012-2022.Democrat Cassie Chambers Armstrong will finish out the rest of McGarvey’s term, which expires in 2024. District 19 represents a multitude of neighborhoods across Jefferson County.The district stretches from neighborhoods near the fairgrounds like Audubon Park, Germantown, Schnitzelburg into Cherokee, Highlands right up to the St. Matthews area.
